Dear Forumers,
I call upon thee to help me with my wicked question(s)... Anyway, I'm a scriptwriter and working on a script about the Golem. (The Jewish "monster" created from clay that rampaged through Prague)
Now I am trying to keep everything as historically accurate as I possible can: dates, places, characters, dialogue - everything. So far I'd like to think I did a decent job, as I did my research I - obviously - stumbled upon Maximilian II who was both king of Bohemia (Czech Republic today) as well as the Holy Roman Emperor.
As there are several scenes involving the Emperor, my questions are:
- What kind of man was he?
- Are there any historically plausible descriptions of his personality?
- I read that in 1576, he died - my script is set in 1575, just a mere year before his death. Would he have been sickly at the time? (<--- Important) And what exactly did he die from?
- I am aware that he died in Regensburg, but where was his actual throne/court and if 'visited' in 1575 where would this, logically, have taken place? (<--- Important)
I would be ever so thankful for your help! I hope you can help a poor fellow out - it will come to great use. I look forward to your answers!
